Ales Ruddenklau, a woman from New Zealand, posted a video showing how to keep broccoli fresh. She placed the broccoli in a cup of water.
According to Ruddenklau, she came up with this method by chance.

But when she noticed that broccoli kept its freshness in water much longer, she decided to share it with others.
To use this tip, you need to cut off a piece of the broccoli stem and put the remaining head in a cup of water.
Then, put the cup with broccoli in the fridge.
After a few hours, the broccoli in the fridge looks like new.
This method of extending freshness also works for celery and asparagus.
"Many plants need water to stay fresh," says Ales.
Many of Ruddenklau's friends were very surprised when they learned about this method of storing food.
"I should have known about this method 17 years ago," wrote one follower.
