The jaguarundi is a member of the feline family, similar to the wild cougar, only times smaller and friendlier, or the great marten. Despite the kind soul of cattails, this species is still a gambling predator.
Jaguarundi are not much different in size from domestic cats and are very friendly, but people do not dare to domesticate the species, because it is a wild cat, and, as it turns out, the hunting instinct is very strong. For example, if a cat hunts mice or wild ducks in the wild, chickens and other domestic animals will suffer in the household.
Jaguarundi make a plethora of unusual sounds, from the usual "meow," like regular house cats, to the passionate bird tongue "chirp," or even whistling. This is a very surprising quality of the species.
More surprising is the diet of these cats - they are, literally, omnivores. Jaguarundi are predatory cats, so they prey on other animals that are smaller than them, like mice and the like. They also catch fish.
If fishing or hunting did not go according to plan, the cat will gladly eat peaches, bananas or grapes.
Also, cats, along with primates, plunder human gardens. They take part in such raids with great joy and pick up from the ground what has fallen from the paws of the monkeys.
At the very least, they don't mind eating food from trash cans without showing excessive pride.
