Check your shoes to make sure you won't be embarrassed by them. No matter the actual price tag, these details can ruin even the most sophisticated outfit.

Transparent Inserts

The trend of transparent inserts didn't last long, which is not surprising. It's at least uncomfortable: good shoes need to breathe. In terms of aesthetics - again, not quite right.

Transparent elements not only quickly yellow from dirt but can also become stained during wear. Overall, this kind of footwear is a true fashion nightmare.

Glue Traces

When it comes to decorative elements, it's hard to hide glue smudges. Quality shoes are believed to be stitched, but there's nothing criminal about using glue. The main thing is that it should be where it belongs and not visible on the surface.

It's better to look for dried traces immediately when buying. Trying to peel them off at home, you risk removing the glue film along with the top layer of material.

Low-Quality Cream

We don't recommend skimping on care: cheap cream will ruin the appearance of expensive leather shoes, including those made of "dermatine," which is now euphemistically referred to as eco-leather.

Not only is it difficult to evenly spread poor cream on the surface, but it also retains the texture of strokes and dries poorly. As a result, the shoes are covered with a layer of dust that, among other things, gets dirty - take care of your clothes!

Animalistic Coloring

Despite the dubious reputation of animal prints, brands sometimes bring another "zebra" or "leopard" to the catwalks. So, categorically labeling such shoes as cheap wouldn't be right.

The main thing is to remember that inexpensive monochromatic shoes might pass for a premium alternative, but flowery ones will give themselves away.

However, if you've managed to find worthy shoes with animal motifs, make sure that the rest of the outfit looks reserved; otherwise, it might result in complete tastelessness.

High Platform

An excessively high platform creates the feeling of a hoof and heavy legs. The bonus centimeters of height aren't worth it; a classic heel provides the desired height increase just as well without any side effects.

Excessive Rhinestones

Unless you're attending a formal event, rhinestones on shoes won't be very appropriate. And if your shoes are literally covered in fake gems, there's really nowhere you can wear them besides a carnival.

If, for some reason, you've decided on a scatter of fake diamonds on your feet, make sure they're all in perfect condition. It's hard to imagine anything more vulgar than faded plastic rhinestones.

Fake Seams

Cheap shoes are rarely stitched, which doesn't stop manufacturers from imitating stitching using molds.

This kind of decoration doesn't serve the same purpose as real seams, but it definitely cheapens the footwear, although its mission is directly opposite.

Scuffs

Change heel tips and zippers on time, take care of your shoes, and even a pair that's aged will look like new. Besides maintenance, don't forget to let them rest and adhere to general rules.

For example, don't dry your shoes on a hot radiator: the material might deform, and genuine leather will undoubtedly dry out and lose its elasticity. Even the cheapest well-cared-for shoes will look more expensive than a branded pair in a terrible condition.
