INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS

1 kg ground meat

1 kg cabbage

cooked rice, 1-2 tablespoons

2 onions

INGREDIENTS FOR SAUCE

tomato paste - 5 tbsp

4-5 tbsp sour cream

2 carrots

1-2 onions

5 cloves of garlic

300 ml hot water

salt, pepper, seasoning to taste

Procedure

Finely chop the cabbage and pour boiling water over it for 10 minutes, then drain it in a colander.

Prepare the rice and ground meat beforehand. I have ground pork, and the rice needs to be washed and cooked over low heat. Peel and finely chop the onions.

In a deep bowl, mix the cabbage with rice, ground meat, eggs, and onions. Season with salt, pepper, and your favorite seasoning to taste (I use Provencal herbs). Mix well.

Shape the mixture into patties with wet hands. Place them on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. Bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes at 180 degrees.

To prepare the filling, put the diced onion in a pan. Fry for 3 minutes.

Grate the carrots and also put them in the pan with the onion, mix. Fry the carrots and onions over low heat for another 5–7 minutes until soft.

Add tomato paste and sour cream to the onion and carrot mixture. Season with salt, pepper, and Provencal herbs. Fry the carrots and onions in the sauce for another 5 minutes.

Add garlic to the sauce, pour in hot water. Cook over low heat for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove the cabbage rolls from the oven, pour hot sauce over them, and spread it evenly over the entire surface.

Put the cabbage rolls back in the oven and bake for another 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
