The result was that they were left without a cat and without money. This desire to save money led to a good offer.

This is a true story that happened in France in 2018. A couple decided to get a domestic pet, choosing a Savannah cat of a rare exotic breed.

As reported: Fakta.today

This is a cross between an ordinary domestic cat and a wild serval.

It is legal to have such an animal under the law. There are special breeding stations that breed such domestic pets. The only negative is the very high cost.

The couple decided to save their family budget and started looking for advertisements for the sale of rare breed cats on the internet from individuals. They finally found a suitable option.

The seller agreed to sell the animal for six thousand euros, a price that suited them quite well. The seller asked them to wait a few weeks, supposedly so the kitten could grow a little and be weaned from its mother. The couple agreed.

At the agreed time, the seller met with the buyers, holding a three-month-old kitten in their hands. At least that's what the couple thought. In reality, it was not a Savannah cat, but a real tiger cub.

The deal was successfully completed, and the buyers took the animal, giving the seller six thousand euros in cash. Satisfied, they went home.

After a few days, however, the couple suspected that something was wrong. The Savannah was very wild and aggressive. The buyers conducted their own investigation, compared photos of Savannah cats with their pet, and realized that they had been deceived. It was not an exotic domesticated cat, but a real predator.

Without hesitation, the couple went to the police. They told the police that they wanted to buy a Savannah cat, and were sold a tiger.

Law enforcement officers suspected that the sellers themselves were not honest: that they originally wanted to have a predator, and then, when they realized that they couldn't handle it, decided to take on the role of victims. However, this information was not confirmed.

For two whole years, the police searched for illegal sellers who sold rare predators. As a result, they managed to arrest the entire criminal group: nine people. The attackers now face a real prison sentence, as the trade in tigers in France is banned.

The tiger cub found a new home. However, where exactly it ended up is not known.
