It has always been interesting whether cats can watch TV. What do they see there?

Owners of fluffy tails have repeatedly noticed how their pets are keenly interested in what is happening on the screen and even react.

Moreover, some cats watch football matches, not just cartoons or animal programs.

The fact is that cats also see in color, but in a different way from our color perception. Cats' vision is blurred.

Animals are attracted to movement and sounds coming from the TV screen. And the faster the dynamics, the clearer the interest. Therefore, a cat would rather watch a running dog than a slowly falling autumn leaf.

Cats are intelligent animals capable of processing voluminous information. Studying the TV, they can easily distinguish between a real person and a cartoon, a dog and a bird.

UK scientists have found, based on experiments, that cats are better at watching LCD or plasma TVs with a frequency of 100 Hz than those receivers with a frequency of 50-70 Hz.

Televisions with a lower frequency create flickering and distorted images, which interferes with the perception of the transmitted picture.

The size of the screen is also important: the larger the diagonal (from 50), the clearer the image the cat sees.

Do cats understand what they are watching?

It is interesting that cats have favorite programs. Mostly about wildlife. When a cat sees birds fluttering and chirping on the screen, a mouse or a swimming fish, it will try to catch the prey. It knows perfectly well who it is.

Some owners turn on the TV with a program about the animal world to keep the kitten quiet while cleaning.

Obviously, cats do not watch programs like humans. At first, they are completely convinced that something is really happening behind the glass: people are running, butterflies are flying, or real snakes are hissing.

Only after they try to grab the person on the other side of the screen do they start to just watch.

The cat sees black, white, gray, and cold shades of blue, yellow, and green. They do not react at all to red, orange, and other bright colors.

That is, if you add movement to the desired color, you will get an interesting rendering.

Given this fact, you can choose a viewing option that interests the cat: nature films, cartoons.

Even football matches where players run in blue and green uniforms.
