A few weeks ago, a homeowner from Santa Cruz (California, USA) was woken up by a strange noise near her house.

The woman didn't pay much attention to it, thinking it was just the wind. So she went back to sleep peacefully.

But after a while, she woke up to a loud crash and discovered that someone had broken into her house.

Imagine her surprise when she found out that the source of the commotion was ordinary raccoons.

Although the raccoons knocked over chairs, overturned plant pots, and even tore paintings from the walls in the room, she treated the uninvited guests as calmly as possible.

When the animals realized that their presence was no longer a secret to the owner of the house, one of them ran outside through the window.

But the other one decided to stay to continue exploring the human home.

Then the American woman called Dan Burton, the owner of the Urban Trapping Wildlife Control center, and he came to her house very quickly.

Dan caught the furry criminal without incident and returned him to the family, who were nearby. After that, Dan stayed to help the owner clean up the mess left by the animals.

"She was glad that the raccoons hadn't destroyed anything significant or attacked her. She soon fell back to sleep," said Dan Burton.
